Training & Capability Building

Training designed by practitioners, built around your own transactions.

Practitioner-led IFRS, ECL, actuarial and financial modelling training for finance teams, audit committees and boards, in Arabic and English, on-site or virtual.

Overview

Training & Capability Building

Generic IFRS courses rarely change what a finance team does on Monday morning. Training that works is built around the standards that matter to your business, uses your own contracts and data as case studies, and is delivered by people who apply the standards every week.

ECT designs and delivers training on IFRS, IFRS 9 expected credit loss, IAS 19 employee benefits, financial modelling and finance governance. Programmes range from board-level briefings to multi-day practitioner workshops with hands-on model building. All materials are available in Arabic and English.

We also build internal capability as part of every advisory engagement, so the models and processes we deliver are maintained by your team, not dependent on us.

Technical FAQ

The technicality behind Training & Capability Building.

Straight answers to the questions finance teams, auditors and boards ask us most often.

Are your courses accredited or eligible for CPD?

Our programmes are designed to meet continuing professional development requirements of professional bodies such as SOCPA, AICPA, ACCA and CMA, and we provide attendance certificates stating the hours and content. Where a client requires accreditation by a specific body we work with them to obtain it.

Can training be delivered in Arabic?

Yes. All courses are available in Arabic, English or bilingually, with materials in both languages. Our trainers are native Arabic speakers with professional accounting qualifications and practical experience applying the standards.

How practical is the IFRS 9 ECL programme?

Participants build a working provision matrix or a simplified general-approach model during the course using a sample dataset, calibrate staging thresholds, apply a forward-looking overlay and prepare the disclosure. By the end they can run and explain a model rather than merely describe the standard.

What size of group works best?

Practitioner workshops work best with 8 to 16 participants so that everyone completes the exercises with support. Awareness sessions and board briefings can accommodate larger groups. Virtual delivery is offered for distributed teams across the GCC.

Do you provide training as part of advisory engagements?

Yes. Every model or process we deliver includes hand-over training and documentation so that your team can operate it independently. Many clients then engage us for annual refresher sessions when standards or regulations change.

Let's discuss your reporting challenge.

A 30-minute scoping call with a CPA-led team. We will tell you plainly what the standard requires, what we need from you, and what it will cost.
